Willard “Bill” Bishop is arguably one of the retail industry’s most successful and preeminent consulting luminaries having founded and run Willard Bishop Retail Consulting for decades.

Recognized as one of the retail industry’s most accomplished advisers, Bill was featured by American Demographics magazine as one of the top ten thought and research leaders “driving the future of consumer intelligence.”

Bill  has been involved in noteworthy consumer packaged goods and retail research and consulting for over 30 years.

Bishop has led major retail and consumer products industry studies on everything from pricing strategies and strategic category management to new retail formats and loyalty marketing.  Additionally he has done extensive research into emerging opportunities created by health and wellness at retail.

Bill ran the Coca-Cola Retail Research Council for over a decade. The organization was focused on building best practice relationships between suppliers and retailers.

In 2011 as co-founder of “Brick Meets Click” Bill has helped senior leaders better understand the impact of convergence in retail and shopper perspectives brought on by the digital revolution.

Bishop brings decades of retail and supplier side wisdom to bear for Ascension clients worldwide. His broad global experience and broad network of senior executives makes him an invaluable member of the Ascension consulting team.

Bill has taught Marketing at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and holds a doctorate in economics from Cornell University.

Along with his wife and family Bill lives in the Chicago area.
